IIM Visakhapatnam launches a Covid-19 predictive dashboard/tracker, which is the second in India after Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. Set up with a purpose to predict the Covid -19 spread within the state, it also helps the district authorities by projecting district level spread.
The dashboard (covid tracker) not only predicts the dates when spread reaches its peak,but it can also predict Second wave of infection in case certain social distancing restrictions are not maintained after unlocking.
The data will be useful for the authorities to take decisions regarding the containment of virus spread.
It is also known that the data on the dashboard can also be understood by a non technical person and the data and predictions on the tracker are updated on a daily basis.
It is known to provide the strategies to contain the virus spread which will be useful for the authorities to contain the virus spread during the peak.
The primary data that is needed is obtained from covid19india.org and their Github repository. And uses the extended susceptible -infected-removed (eSIR) model.
