Amid widespread agitation against the move to privatize the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, TDP Legislator Ganta Srinivas Rao has dashed off a letter to chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for calling for an urgent cabinet meeting with a single point of agenda on the prevailing issue to find out the modalities and the way forward.
Earlier, he expressed his thanks to the chief minister for writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the government to reconsider its plan of disinvestment of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and also for suggesting immediate measures to adopt in order to strengthen the viability of the plant.
Ganta Srinivas Rao said apart from calling cabinet meeting, he also requested the chief minister to arrange a special assembly session with all the MLAs to pass a single point resolution against the privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. All this and more will be a step in the right direction to protecting the thousands of employees’ future and sustainability. Stating further, he also requested the CM to call for an all-party meet enable to take views of all the party leaders and to solve the issue once forever.
