speaking during a video conference with Information & Technology officials on Friday, State Industries and IT Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy has directed the authorities to strengthen the internet system as IT companies will continue to work from home for some more time as part of curbing the spread of corona virus.
As 70 per cent of IT employees in the state do work from home, they are urged to take precautionary measures to avoid any problems in internet connectivity.
He also said, as the demand for work from home grows, the feasibility of setting up a digital centres to provide free services in towns and cities should be explored. With this, there is also a need to give more priority to cyber security. Consideration should be given to setting up a digital employment exchange with the aim of creating employment for the unemployed, he added
For administrative convenience, review on transfer of Society for Andhra Pradesh Networks (SAPNET) to I&PR or to Department of Education or bringing AP Cyber Security Operations Center under the purview of RTGS or bringing Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA) and the Andhra Pradesh Space Application centre under the purview cybersecurity also conducted.
