Having a natural inclination towards crochet work from her childhood led to achieving three Guinness book of world records in crochet group events through MICQ. Meet S Madhavi from Visakhapatnam who has been doing amazing work.
This 48-year-old lady has made scarfs, crochet toys, crochet frocks, table tops, blankets, wall hangings, head caps, ponchos, etc. Apart from that she also does paper craft, best out of waste, mural work, flower making, silk thread jewellery, sand painting, glass painting nib painting and metal engraving.
Speaking to HV, she said, “If you know any art, it gives you self-confidence and self-respect. I have taught this crochet art to more than 100 women and children free of cost and making them self-reliant. I also contributed to Indian army by making caps, cowls & scarfs in the name of Thanks giving to brave brothers through our MICQ group.”
Adding that she had distributed masks during the pandemic, Madhavi said, “It takes around 6-8 hours to make a crochet frock.”
