In the nation’s fight against COVID-19, Indian Railways is leaving no stone unturned. Apart from regular vaccination programme at designated centres at railway establishments with its in-house medical facilities, Waltair Division is also mobilizing vaccination drives in association with state governments at railway stations. Today, mega vaccination drive was conducted at Visakhapatnam railway station at Art Gallery, near Gate No.1 from 9am to 5pm. Divisional Railway Manager Shri Anup Kumar Sathpathy inaugurated the special drive.
In this One day mega drive, more than 200 people got the jab by registering their valid adhar card at the service centre. People from various age groups registered for first or second dose as per norms of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Both Covishield and Covaxin doses were made available at the centre.
While administering the vaccine, all the participants of vaccination program are being duly observed for a period of 30 minutes in the vaccination centre for any adverse affect of post immunization. Close coordination with state government is being maintained for smooth running of this vaccination drive.
Speaking on this occasion DRM Shri Anup Kumar Sathpathy said that participation of Railway Officials and doctors in this immunization drive is helping towards confidence building in Railway fraternity as well as among the public about the health safety standard. Such drives will bring impetus to the most important vaccination program of our nation, he added. He appreciated the team efforts of Visakhapatnam station staff for successful organisation of mega drive.
