Women should take care of their health by periodical medical tests and by timely vaccinations for Cervical Cancer etc said Dr. Leela Digumarti, Gyaeniclogial Oncologist. She was addressing the gathering during the Women’s Day celebrations conducted by Rotary Club Visakha Port City. She said in the changing times women face more challenges as they are competing with men and to be mentally strong and assertive and everyone should encourage women to explore and participate.
Later Meritorious Service awards were given by Rotary Club Visakha Port City to Gynaecological Oncologist Dr Leela Digumarthi, Asha worker – Mrs Padma, Lady Constables Mrs B AppalaSurya & Mrs B Dev, RK Mission school Principal – Prasanna Rani, Visakha Children’s club Coordinator Mrs Ramadevi and Visakha Valley School past Principal Sharda Reddy.
President Capt Kali Prasad said that Rotary encourages Women’s empowerment and everyone should support them in their endeavors. Around 50 members joined the meeting Secretary Vithal Prasad, Past Presidents Indira Vadlamani, Phillip Timothy and Kamal Baid, DV Varma, Rambabu, women Rotarians Neeraja, Sridevi, Vani, Usha, Kiran, Lakshmi Gupta, Bharati and others participated.
