Bolstering the supporting cast of Ravi Teja-starrer Khiladi — after the recent signing of action king Arjun and Anasuya — further are two new additions: Sarath Kumar and Unni Mukundan. According to a source close to the unit, the film’s script offers space for supporting actors to shine and it is the reason why the usually selective Kumar and Unni joined the project.
The source informs, “While Sarath Kumar will be seen as a home minister in the film, Unni plays Ravi’s close confidant and has his own story. The former has close to six-seven important scenes, while the latter will be seen in a full-length role alongside Ravi, and has even joined the sets. Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma and Vennela Kishore are playing other supporting roles.”
The source adds that the film’s shoot is presently going in a specially erected set at Pragathi Nagar, Kukatpally, and the action will shift to Mumbai next month. “Director Ramesh Varma has canned close to 40 percent of the film so far and with the Mumbai schedule of 15 days, he is looking at wrapping up 55-60 percent. The talkie portions will be wrapped up with the final foreign schedule,” the source concludes.
An action thriller, the film, co-starring Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayathi, is a production venture of Koneru Satyanarayana under A Studios, while Bollywood production house Pen Studios is presenting it. A Devi Sri Prasad musical, Sujit Vaasudev of Lucifer is lensing the film.
