Nearly 500 International students to stay back at AU hostel

On Wednesday, it was declared by the Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that all the schools, colleges and universities will shut down till March 31 observing the spread of novel Coronavirus around the country.
Declared as Pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO), all schools, colleges and universities send a circular with orders of shutting down. Even Andhra University declared holidays as of now till March 31, following the orders by the State Government all the offices, library, hostels shut down and sent back the students to their respective homes.
Seeing the increase in cases and travel restrictions Andhra University decided to hold back nearly 500 international students in the campus itself. These students belong from 40 different countries.
Globally the coundition is quite bad and even the travel expenses are touching the roof so the authorities decided to hold them back safeguarding in the interest of their health as it is better to avoid the travel as much as possible for now.
For now all the other students, faculty, non-faculty members are advised to stay back at their homes.
