The RK beach in Vizag is a wonderful place to be. If you’re heading to this place, take a look at Police advice and tips to help you have fun and stay safe. Close on the heels of an idea of surveillance at the beach getting good response, another novel idea was implemented by the city police administration. In a bid to ensure safety of beach visitors in Vizag, the city police started an exclusive Beach control room called “We are here for you” adjacent to Bhavatarini Kali Mata temple at Ramakrishna Beach as a part of the community policing here on Wednesday.
This novel initiative was mooted by Vizag Police Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha and the functioning of control room will be monitored by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ch. Adinarayana. Speaking to Hello Vizag Ch. Adinarayana said the surveillance from the control room, which is on 24/7 mode will be operated by women from the police force in shifts. And this facility is equipped with technology and latest communication equipment and will coordinate with all police including Law & Order, Armed Reserve, Traffic, Marine, Community Guards and others, in case of any issue. The control room will keep a watch over activities right from Fishing Harbour to Bheemili and alert the police concerned. And this control room will be monitored by women form the police force.
Stating further Mr. Adinarayana said when the locals and tourists arrive at the beach the first thing they might see is a sign giving you all the information about the beach you’re visiting. This includes important safety information on the hazards specific to the area. Marine experts opine that a beach can seem like a vast playground but the tide can come in surprisingly quickly. Waves are great fun, but they can be dangerous. They have different characteristics depending on the beach and conditions – understanding how they work will keep you safer. To create awareness about the control room for ensuring safety of the general public on the beach road, police released a sky balloon over the outpost.
