Minister for culture and tourism Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said the new comprehensive survey under Mee Bhoomi Maa Hami would protect the land encroachers while addressing a public meeting in Ramayogi Agraharam in Bhimili Mandal on Tuesday. An aerial survey was conducted with the help of drones, and stones marked boundaries. The minister said under the YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhuhakku and Bhurakshana Pathakam will protect the landowners. Collector V Vinay Chand said the last survey was conducted in 1920 under the British regime and the new survey was being conducted with the latest technology. Stating that the Chief Minister took an important decision to protect the lands from encroachment, the collector said Survey of India, Survey and Settlement Department, registration office, local panchayats, and local municipalities would coordinate this survey.
