Nimmagadda Ramesh kumar to continue as State Election Commissioner

The Supreme Court refused to stay Andhra Pradesh High Court order, on setting aside Justice V kanagaraj, who was appointed as State Election Commissioner.

This means that Nimmagadda Ramesh kumar, will continue to be the State Election Commissioner until further orders.

The three judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India, said that the ordinance appeared to be against the spirit of constitution.

The bench refused to grant a stay order on High Court order saying, ‘we are not convinced that your client’s (AP Government) motive is entirely innocent’.

Which meant that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar will continue to be the State Election Commissioner.
