Speaking to Hello Vizag, KGH Superintendent Mythili on Friday said it was unfortunate that a Covid-19 patient has died by suicide on Thursday. She said the patient was likely to recover n a few days. However, it is because of depression and fear of the illness, she took the extreme step, Dr.Mythili said. She advised Covid-19 patients not to be afraid of the virus as most of the patients were recovering from the illness without any problem and only a few cases were having complications.
The majority of the cases were mild and can recover even without treatment, she said and advised people to get tested if they have feel symptoms of covid-19. The KGH Superintendent asked patients not to get depressed as treatment is available in all government hospitals. Testing and treatment are easy and available free of cost in all the government hospitals, she said.“Doctors, nurses, paramedical staff are readily available in all the centers to help patients. Patients should attend the hospitals without any fear and all the necessary help will be available at the hospitals,” she said.
All the people who are above 45 years of age are advised to take vaccination to prevent infection and also maintain Covdi-19 appropriate behaviour by wearing the masks, frequent washing of the hands and use of sanitizer, she said.
