With the looming power crisis in India, there are also rumours that have been circulating about the power crisis in Visakhapatnam. There are also rumours about the possible power cuts in the city. The rumours also claimed that the distribution company in Vizag is gearing to face the severe load-relief efforts. According to the rumours the coal deposits have gone low, but according to reality there is no need for longer power cuts in the city as of now.
Speaking about the power distribution in the city, the Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited’s Vizag Circle Office clearly stated that there is no power crisis in the city as of now. They also claimed that the power supply at their disposal is enough to meet the demand in the city. During extremely hot days, the city’s power consumption goes high and APEPDCL is taking measures.
In an attempt to conserve electricity and avoid a power crisis, APEPDCL has requested all the Vizagites not to use air conditioners (ACs) after 6 PM. If they do, they are recommended to maintain the AC’s temperature at 25 degrees Celsius.
