Online Waste Management Portal launched by Andhra Pradesh Government

recycle- hello vizag

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched an Online Waste Management Portal.

Several industries in the state generate harmful wastes in solid, liquid and gaseous form. This platform helps in managing the waste generated by industries.

Andhra Pradesh Environment Management Corporation (APEMC) is given the authority to manage this online portal. It handles the industrial waste, right from the generation to the end of its lifecycle.

APEMC will also levy green tax on industries to manage and dispose its waste. It is set to work in close coordination with Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board(APPCB).

Earlier, state government is not in a capacity to adequately handle the complete waste, so this portal provides a base to handle it in a more efficient manner, as it uses the

“principles of 6 R’s” which implies Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Redesign, Refurbish and Re-manufacture.
