State Tourism and Culture Minister Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao has directed the Chittivalasa jute mill management to pay the outstanding arrears due to the workers. During the meeting held on Friday at the minister’s camp office today with Chittivalasa jute mill management, the Minister directed KK Bajoria, Chairman of Chittivalasa jute mill to pay all the arrears due as on date as per agreement finalised year back. Accordingly, each permanent worker will get Rs. 27,500 for each worker and apprentice worker will get Rs. 10,000.

Earlier in 2019 tri-party meeting was held at the District Collectorate Office on the behest of State Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement Minister, Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao.

State Labour Minister, Gummanur Jayaram, and Visakhapatnam District Collector, Vinay Chand (IAS) were the other two key conveners from the State Government. The second party was the management of the jute mill. The leaders of the various trade unions, that represent the 6000 workers at the mill, were the third party in the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Jonit Labour Commissioner U Malleswara Rao, Assitant Commissioner K Rama Krishna Rao, Spokesperson of management Joshi and members of Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chilla Venkata Ramana, K Varahala Raju, Vanakala Adinarayana Reddy and others participated.
