Nationwide fit India dialogue was held to celebrate the first anniversary of Fit India Movement. PM Narendra Modi interacted with few of the fitness influencers, sports persons etc today through online conferencing.
He talked about the importance of mental health and it’s relationship with physical health. He also stressed on the point that usually elders teach their children good habits but these days the younger generation is taking the lead and teaching their parents about being fit.
“Fitness ki Doze, Adha Ghanta Roz” is the new mantra stated by PM Modi. Every individual should do some or the other fitness activity or play any game for at least half an hour every day.
He also added that, family that plays together stays together.
Other participants present in fitness dailouge include Virat Kohli, Union Minister Kiran Rijiju, Javelin thrower and Paralympics gold medalist Devendra Jhajharia, Jammu and Kashmir footballer Afshan Ashiq, Fitness promoter and Actor Milind Soman etc.
Modi asked Virat Kohli about yo yo test that is conducted for checking the fitness levels of Indian cricket team. He also asked that if captain has an exception. Kohli stated that the fitness levels are usually low and that is the reason yo yo test is conducted to keep up the fitness levels of the players so that, they could take on the world and he is not an exception.
