After a brief lull due to coronavirus-induced lockdown and subsequent impact, the film shooting in the exotic locales in Vizag resumed with more vigor going by the production houses shooting. Known for most sought after for film shooting, Vizag is once again rising like a phoenix in a bid to show the world, that it can offer some of the most mesmerizing locations that can even be compared to the best in the world. Films like, ‘Maro Charithra’ starring Kamal Hassan, Chiranjeevi’s ‘Abhilasha,’ Balakrishna’s ‘Narasimha Naidu’ till the recent Sai Dharam Tej starrer ‘Solo Brathuke So Better’, showcased the beauty of Vizag.
Actor Sundeep Kishan starrer ‘Rowdy Baby’ is being canned at Visalakshi Nagar, Bheemili and many other locations since December 2020. The fight sequences of actor Ravi Teja’s upcoming flick ‘Khiladi’ was shot at Vizag Port last week. Actor Karthikeya and Lavanya Tripathi’s ‘Chavu Kaburu Challaga’ is being filmed at Rama Krishna Beach for the last couple of days. Similarly, Director Ajay Bhupathi is filming some of the scenes for his ‘Maha Samudram’, starring Sharwanand, in the city.
Indeed, it’s a welcome relief for those managers and technicians including unit van operators, crane operators, technicians and fighters (bodybuilders), from the city, who are solely dependent to make ends meet. Speaking to Hello Vizag, S Ramesh, who works as an Assistant Manager said ‘it’s been a hard phase in our lives due to loss of work during covid-19 but we survived just because of the help extended in the form of essentials from the most people in the film industry. With this, we are back to work again since November.
For K Anjaneyaly, a van operator and assists the director of the photograph during the shoots, happiness knows no bounds because of the resumption of film shootings after a brief lull. For him, shooting in Vizag has been a sentiment for many actors and directors. Popular directors’ hardcore belief is that filming at least one scene in the city will make the movie a grand success,” he said.
