Minister for tourism and culture Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao asked the officials of tourism and APTDC to prepare an action plan within a week on the progress made by their departments to increase the footfall of the tourists in the region. The minister held a meeting with these officials in Visakhapatnam on Friday. He said tourism was affected in the state due to the Covid-19 pandemic and since the situation was becoming normal, the officials should make special packages to attract the tourists.
The minister ordered the tourism department officials to prepare tour packages for the pilgrim centers such as Lord Suryanarayana temple in Arasavalli , Srikurmam and other holy places through APTDC. He told the APTDC officials to set up a tourism information center at RK Beach in coordination with the GVMC officials. He also asked the officials of GVMC, VMRDA and Zilla Parishad to organise cultural programmes jointly and also give more priority and also give wide publicity for APTDC hotels also.
