Renovated barrack of Railway Protection Force at Marripalem (Visakhapatnam) was made operational as per the required template of Railway Board. Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava commissioned the renovated facility through Video connectivity in august presence of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (RPF) Shri Jitendra Shrivastava at the Barrack.
The improved modern facilities provided at renovated barrack are now available for RPF staff at Marripalem comprises of 1) Semi modular kitchen with all the mess gadgets like Industrial RO, Microwave Ovens, Grinders, Flour mixer, Chimney, Weight machine, Coffee maker etc; 2) Mini sports complex for Table Tennis / Carom and Chess; 3) Badminton Court; 4) Gym facilities with Treadmills, Foot Massager, Cycling and Multi gymming. Apart from this all toilet blocks were also renovated and living hall was provided with the wardrobes. Sanitization and required items as per the guidelines are also provided in this barrack.
The renovation of this barrack was completed in six months with an investment of Rs 35 lakhs. It is for the first time in East Coast Railway Zone to provide such modern facilities at RPF barracks. Renovation of other barracks at Visakhapatnam and at Viziangaram are also under process. These renovations are the part of staff welfare measures in order to improve the productivity and efficiency of RPF personnel.
