As a part of Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), has extended financial support of Rs 91 lakh for improving infrastructure in some schools. The infrastructure will be developed by AP Samagra Siksha Abhiyaan at DAV School, Ukkunagaram, Visakha Vimala Vidyalaya, Ukkunagaram, and Visakha Vimala Vidyalaya at BC Road.
Kishore Chandra Das, Director (Personnel), RINL laid the foundation stone for developing infrastructure at these schools on Tuesday. As part of the initiative, to encourage renewable energy resources, RINL provided funds of Rs 11.97 lakh from CER budget for the installation of 25KW capacity solar power systems. These solar power systems will be installed through the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh at Visakha Vimala Vidyalaya School, BC Road.
Addressing a meeting on the occasion, Das emphasized the role of teachers in improving discipline among students inside and outside the school. He also advised the schools to maintain the infrastructure properly for the bright future of the students. He also sought collaboration among the schools in Ukkunagaram and called upon them to adopt best practices so as to thrive in the present conditions.
