Rotaract club of Visakha satellite city has distributed 100 blankets and old clothes to the poor and destitute people who live on footpaths and under the bridges at Krishna temple, in Lawson’s bay colony. The noble cause of the Rotaract club will give much-needed relief and protection to the needy from cold and gives them sound sleep.
President Rtr Girish Kumar and Secretary Rtr Akhil Patnaik of the Rotaract said “poor destitute people who live on the footpath are bound to face the cold without woolen clothes (blankets). Hundreds of people die of shivery cold every year due to the lack of woolen clothes. Those people are helpless because of poverty”.
More than 10 club members attended the distribution program including Past Presidents Jeevan and Gowtham and few people from the neighborhood standing for the cause. Mr. Uday Kumar Patta joined the donation drive along with the team.
