Good Samaritan is a Central Government Scheme that aim towards bringing down the death rates in the road accidents. Under this scheme, the citizens who provide help to the accident victims will be rewarded.
Now, this scheme has came into force in Vizag. The sole objective of this scheme is to reduce the death toll due to road accidents in the city.
Anyone who saves a person’s life in a road accident by admitting him in the hospital, the person will be given a reward of Rs. 5000 under the Good Samaritan scheme. If in case two people combinedly saved a person’s life, then the reward money will be distributed to those two people.
In addition to this on the central level, 10 people among all the Samaritans all over India will be selected and they will further be rewarded Rs. 1 lakh each.
