For a film, which is adhering to COVID19 regulations of 50 percent occupancy, Sai Tej and Nabha Natesh-starrer Solo Brathuke So Better (SBSB), which released last Friday, has packed in quite a punch at the cash counters. After grossing Rs 5.1 cr on an opening day, the film has continued its good run on day two as well, collecting Rs 3.9 cr.
“The film witnessed around 30 percent drop on the second day, which is expected for a non-holiday and the divide talk it earned on day one but the silver lining is that the audiences are back to cinemas. It should augur well for Sankranti releases like Krack, Red, and Bangaru Bullodu. Expect the makers of these films to ramp up their promotions,” points out a trade source.
The source adds that SBSB’s Karnataka rights were sold for Rs 65 lakh and the film collected almost Rs 55 lakh in the first two days. “The distributor will be staring at profits from Monday,” the source notes. Buoyed by the response, the makers of SBSB are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film further as there are no major releases until Sankranti. Tej is on a theatre-hopping spree, as he visited some cinema halls in the city on Sunday and interacted with fans.
