Schools to re-open in AP on August 3rd


Andhra Pradesh state Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in a review meeting on school education department here on Tuesday had decided to reopen the schools from August 03, 2020.

He directed the officials to take all the necessary measures to reopen the schools by following social distancing. Chief Minister has also asked the officials of education department to focus on completing the school renovation works under ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme.

The AP State government had decided to give facelift to 15,751 schools in the first phase of ‘Nadu-Nedu’. YS Jagan said that a fund of Rs. 456 crores have already been released for this scheme to speed up development and renovation works of school buildings.

Chief Minister in the meeting has directed the officials to maintain 9 key elements in every school across the state which include, playground, library, science laboratory, computer laboratory, proper toilets and others.

Jagan has directed the district collectors to take regular review meeting on ‘Nadu-Nedu’ and complete the school renovation works by the end of July month.

Meanwhile, the education department had increased its exercise on giving grades to the schools based on the infrastructure available there and the Fees will be fixed as per the grading points.
