Actor Shiva Kandukuri, who is awaiting the release of Gamanam presently, has green-lit Kathanam director Rajesh’s next film, a comic thriller. A joint production venture between M Ravi Charan and Pratima, the film, titled Chetak Sreenu, was launched in Hyderabad on Friday.
Rajesh is directing from a script of Rajkanth Thoti, while Anup Rubens has been signed on as the composer. Satish Mutyala is lensing it. The film will roll from February 18. Speaking after the muhurat, Rajesh said Raj Kandukuri, father of Shiva, green-lit the project immediately after the first narration.
“The story excited him immensely. He has given his inputs and we will seek his guidance in completing the project. I’m happy to be working with Shiva,” the director said. Raj Kandukuri, who backed content-rich cinema-like Pellichoopulu and Mental Madhilo, said that Chetak Sreenu is one of the best scripts he heard in recent times. “Basically, I like thrillers and the plotline of this film is intriguing. It will be an engaging affair all through its running time. Shiva wanted to do a thriller for a long time and he is extremely confident about this one,” Raj said.
