Few days after the temporary shut down of the mortuary, some other departments were also temporarily closed after a few more doctors from those departments were tested positive.
A total of 8 Post Graduate doctors were tested positive until Tuesday. It was known that they belong to forensic, general surgery, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and community medicine departments.
The hospital authorities said that this led to the shortage in the availability of medical personnel in those departments, after the doctors, nurses, wardboys and other staff were sent to14 days quarantine as they were the primary contacts of the affected doctors.
As a result the senior doctors and other staff who were not the primary contacts of the doctors who tested positive, were allowed to conduct emergency surgeries.
