In a significant move of the Bharatiya Janata Party in AP, BJP State President Kanna Lakshmi Narayana was replaced with party senior leader and MLC Somu Veerraju, here on Monday. BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday appointed Veerarju and a communication note by BJP members said that the appointment has been done with immediate effect.
Kanna Lakshminarayana, had been in the post of BJP State President since May 13, 2018. Lakshminarayana had been in the Congress party for more than two decades before switching over to the BJP.
Veerraju, hailing from an agriculturist family in East Godavari district, was the president and general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Andhra Pradesh for a quite long time. Later, he was elevated to the BJP state committee as its general secretary and vice-president.
