To contain the spreading of the covid-19 virus, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced that henceforth, only 50 people or fewer would be allowed to attend any function across the State. According to the latest government order issued by the State Health secretary Anil Kumar Singhal, only 50 people would be allowed to attend any function across the state. Sports complexes, gyms and swimming pools will remain closed until further orders while public transport and cinema halls will be allowed to function with 50 percent capacity.
Funerals and related activities shall be attended by up to 20 participants following covid protocols (wearing mask, sanitization and maintaining social distance. Singhal also instructed to maintain a distance of 5 feet amongst the staff in all government and private offices.
Allocation of beds and admissions of patients in hospitals will be done through a single call centre. A state-level task force was set up to supervise Remdesivir injection for supply to Covid patients, he said and added that there are currently 11,000 Remdesivir vials available.
Singhal said that the Central Government has allocated 341 metric tonnes of oxygen to the state, which is not sufficient for the present needs. So, strict supervision of the medical oxygen consumption is there on day to day basis. Oxygen is being wasted in many places as it is being used when not needed,” he said.
