As per the directives of Ministry of Railways, Government of India, Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has launched fortnight long campaign of Swachch Bharat abhiyan to keep the railway premises free of garbage and filth.
Waltair Division is observing the Swachch Bharat pakhwada from 16th September to 30th September -2021 by motivating its entire workforce to take part in this noble mission. On the first day of Pakhwada, Swachchta Pledge being administered at Divisional Railway Manager’s office, at Sub-divisional offices and at Railway stations over the Division. DRM Shri Anup Kumar Satpathy administered the pledge to the officers and staff at DRM office and also conducted a swachhta pledge through virtual conference for all other units. ADRM ( infra) Shri Sudhir Kumar Gupta was also present at the occasion.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is aimed to stop open defecation, ban single use plastics, systematic disposal of garbage and creating public awareness & participation. The noble mission has proved its successful implementation in making India as Swachch Bharat and Indian Railways played vital role in shaping the movement with the slogan Swachch Bharat– Swachch Rail. Swachchta pledge organised at Srikulam, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Koraput, Jagdalpur, Araku, Simhachalam, Electric Loco shed, Diesel Locoshed, Coach Care Centre and other units over the Division.
In his message on the occasion, Divisional Railway Manager Shri Anup Kumar Satpathy said that Swachch Bharat abhiyan is the most powerful tool in making India as Green India & Swachch India. He mentioned that strict adherence to Swachhta we could be able to contain the pandemic to minimum level. There is a need to follow physical distancing norms and adopt a hygienic way of living amid the coronavirus crisis, he added.
