The thought of doing a free monthly story circle for adults where Sangitaa Sehgall planned tell a story that raised relevant questions/thoughts regarding what all is needed to change in the present times to help us improve the quality of our lives and follow it up with questions/introspection/questions and answers within the group had been stirring in her mind for a year. The proposed monthly event that was supposed to start on March 20, World Storytelling Day, at the lawns of The Park, on the Beach Road and continued on the second Saturday of every month had to be shelved indefinitely because of the pandemic.

In the meanwhile Sangitaa met online, two storytellers, Poonam Joshy and Jyoti Pande whom she had connected with at the Panchgani and Chennai Storytelling festivals. They were as inspired as her to create a healing space for adults online. They soon became a 5- member strong team when Geetanjali Shetty Kaul and Soumya Rajan Srinivasan joined them and soon after Indian Storytelling Healers Network (ISHN) was born and immediately their first venture- Watering the Roots, a 5 day event where 15 storytellers, including them, told stories that heal was conducted. It was very well received by the Storytellers community from all over the world. The line-up of
storytellers was impressive by any standards. The event was a major success. The proceeds were gifted to Ummeed Child Development Centre which is based out of
Mumbai.

Sangitaa Sehgall is a pioneer of conducting Storytelling and Theatre Workshops for children in the city. She has been conducting these workshops for almost a decade now- a minimum of 3 workshops during summer, every year. She is the founder and Master Trainer at The Launch Pad, her decade old training company. Sangitaa is a Corporate Trainer and Behavioural Coach. She has been using Storytelling and Drama techniques as educational tools to teach Communicative/Leadership/Soft Skills at schools, colleges, university and corporate.

Sangitaa started creating posters of the first event where she used her watercolour painting as its base and a part of her poem. She got confirmation from 10 storytellers from all over India who presented stories that heal.
