Rich tributes were paid to the great patriot Sri. Gurajada Appa Rao on his 158th birth anniversary. After garlanding his statue at the RTC complex, Visakhapatnam, leaders present have read his patriotic poem ‘Love the Country’. Speakers have lauded him for his foresight and said his sayings are still more relevant in the present state of affairs in the Country.
In his poem he said, “Country is not Soil, Country is people.”
However, the participants from the Forum of Development of North Andhra (FDNA) opined that people are unaware on how many migrant have died, how many workers have lost their jobs and how many medical staff has died during this pandemic and the unorganised sector workers are grossly neglected.
They also expressed that Dalits are discriminated and are being subjected to attacks. Atrocities on women are increasing. They have called upon the people to work united to eliminate these present day evils in the society.
This programme was jointly organised by Forum for Development of North Andhra (FDNA) and Sahiti Sravanti.
