Uber ramps its package-delivery service


In order to meet the increasing demand amid the second wave of the pandemic, Uber on Monday announced that it has doubled the number of two-wheelers deployed for its package-delivery service, ‘Uber Connect’, in Visakhapatnam.

Demand for Uber Connect has rippled in May, with many using the service to send essentials like groceries, non-prescription medicines, medical devices, and care packages to their family and loved ones, according to a press release from Uber on Monday.

Speaking to Hello Vizag, Tarun Gupta, Head of Strategic Initiatives, Uber-India and South Asia said, “Uber Connect has been a vital service for users to stay connected with their friends and family during the pandemic.
