Union Public Service Commission has announced the results of 2019 civil services exam. A total of 829 candidates have qualified for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other services. Pradeep Singh topped the exam, while Jatin Kishore stood second followed by Pratibha Verma in third place. The commission did not share any further details of the toppers.
Out of the 829 qualified candidates, 304 candidates belong to General category, 251 candidates are from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 78 candidates are from Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 129 candidates are from Scheduled Castes (SC) and 67 candidates are from Scheduled Tribes .While a total of 182 candidates were kept in reserve list and the result of 11 candidates has been kept withheld. Marks will be available on UPSC website within days from the declaration of the results.
Civil services examination is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various civil services of the Government of India. It is conducted annually in three phases, namely preliminary, mains and interview.
