Vintage meets modern

Fashion is cyclical. The fashion of today is just a repeat of yesterday. What was once in will surely be back again in the future. The quintessential fashion flashbacks are adding oomph to our lifestyles.

We all love a dose of Vintage. It’s kind of inevitable that the bubble will burst but vintage will still be here because people will still be interested in beautiful, old things. Without further ado, let’s have a retro rewind.

Let’s have a polka dot world!
Polka dots are making a notable comeback on the fashion scene. They’ll always be trending, as they’re timeless prints that look good on any woman.
Styling tip- Polka dots are also a great pick if you want to mix and match prints. Go with a polka dot print shirt and a striped skirt, just make sure you have one print that’s smaller in scale than the other.

Dungarees are back!
Some of the best things to come from the resurgence of 90s fashion are dungaree overalls. These dorky-cool pieces are the epitome of casual, laid-back 90s cool. It’s surprising how dungarees can actually go really well with almost everything in your closet.
Styling tip- Make dungarees look more sophisticated by finding ones with a slimmer fit and in a chic pattern. Add some 90s vibes to it by pairing your favourite white shirt or sweatshirt with some denim dungarees.

Just float on flare Bell Bottom Jeans!
Today, flares are making a fresh new comeback. Wide leg and flare leg pants have become a fresh alternative to the recent over-saturation of skinny jeans in stores and on the runway. These styles are taking more inspiration from the 70’s version, utilizing a high waist to slim the hip and elongate the leg, and tending towards a wider flare cut.

Styling tip- Pair your bell bottoms pant with a plain white shirt or even a ruffled top would do. Also, to accentuate, go with a floral headband. Coming to footwear, white sneakers and you’re good to go.

Timeless beauty: Vintage silk scarves!
The history of the silk scarf dates back to BC times. Our love affair with scarves is unlikely to end anytime soon. As a symbol of femininity, the scarf is the ultimate chic fashion accessory oozing sophistication and elegance.
Styling tip- The easiest of ways is to tie one onto a purse handle, or use it as a belt or glam up your look by wearing a scarf around your head.

Wing it out!
Take your cue from the glam era of the 50s with perfect skin, winged line and a bold red pout. Winged eyeliner is certainly one of the best wearable eye look for everyday.

To add definition for eyes use only neutral hues and an intense black liner paired with lustrous lashes, A soft brown can be used all over lids, then a darker brown can be blended into the crease to lend definition. Finish off with winged eyeliner plus 2 to 3 coats of deep black mascara, and you’ve got yourself classic 50s glam eyes.

Vintage sunglasses for the soul!
Vintage is all the rage. It’s seen in fashion, in housing, and across the boundaries of culture. We like it in our music, our food – and now we even like it in our sunglasses. Some of the most popular vintage sunglasses available today include aviators, oversized glasses and another type called wayfarers.
Tip time- If you are a fashion connoisseur, then try pairing up a spaghetti top with mom jeans, sneakers and cateye sunglasses. Pump lips and winged eyeliner are definitely going to welcome you to the Retro club.
