Visakhapatnam-collectorate-is-now-partially-shutdown

Visakhapatnam district collectorate now joined the highly affected workplace list after 20 employees tested Covid positive. District collector V Vinaychand told that the working of various sections have been affected to a certain extent as 20 employees tested positive. The collectorate consists of more than 300 employees. Out of the 20 persons, two employees are from RDO office located in the collectorate premises, while others are drivers, attenders, security guards and personal staff of the collector and joint collectors.

This has led to the partial shutdown of collectorate until next week. Employees have been reduced as the persons below 55 years of age are only allowed to work because the risk is higher for aged people. The process of identifying the primary and secondary contacts of the  corona positive persons has started. Because most of them would have visited different sections to deliver files, so the risk of virus spread is more.

The primary and secondary contacts that were identified were quarantined which includes the self quarantine of a joint collector. The joint collector had self quarantined himself at his camp office and is now conducting review meetings with his departments through video conferencing.
