Collector V Vinay Chand on Monday, conducted a review meeting and directed the officials to identify the locations suitable for setting up Covid care centres in all constituencies. As per the state government instructions each assembly constituency should have a Covid care centre which will be tracked by revenue division officers, they were asked to submit the details of identified locations.
These Covid care centres are being set up as a part of the decentralisation of the treatment of corona patients.He added that each centre would be equipped with an approximate of 300 beds and all the required equipment would be available at the centres along with trunat machines, rapid antigen kits etc. They will have facilities for all kinds of tests like blood tests, X-ray, ECG etc. A special officer would be allotted for the constituency wise centre. Community health centres and primary health centres will have the testing facilities. Medical staff will be available 24/7 along with the ambulance facility.
He ordered the officials to set up isolation beds in the area hospitals and community health centres. Patients with high risk would be shifted to hospitals with oxygen and ventilator facilities are available. Around 200 to 300 beds would be arranged at the quarantine centres where tehsildar would be in charge. With the rapid rise in cases over the last few days had led to the need of making more beds available, the death toll has even reached 29 in the district.
