Visakhapatnam reports its first COVID-19 death


A 70 year old man who was admitted in KGH on Thursday passed away and was tested positive of Corona.

He was admitted in King George Hospital (KGH) on Thursday with a complaint of Kidney ailment. As soon as he was admitted he underwent corona test to but before the results could arrive he passed away.

His body was later taken back to his residence at Chengalraopeta in the city and when the results of corona came he was tested positive. The hospital management tried to contact the deceased but the number entered in the k-sheet turned to be invalid which lead to a havoc among the staff.

GVMC officials and Police were informed and alerted at the same time. However contact details are being traced and the area of Chengalraopeta has been put under red zone and precautionary measures are being taken.

Subsequently, KGH superintendent Arjun took immediate actions of sending all the staff who treated him into quarantine including doctors for a period of 14 days.
