Andhra Pradesh State Government has approved for setting up 10 more beach in the city of destiny between Rushikonda and Bhogapuram. These 10 beaches will be developed by the State Tourism Development Corporation with a budget of Rs. 2.50 crores for each beach.
Under the first phase of beaches development, the Visakhapatnam Port management will develop five beaches with the funds provided under corporate social responsibility. The rest 5 beaches will be developed in the second phase.
Rushikonda, Yarada and RK beaches have already been attracting tourists in the city and they are already pretty popular.
The government is also planning for the six-lane road development from Visakhapatnam to Bhogapuram via Bheemunipatnam along with the development of new beaches, which will help in further developing the tourism of the area.
The tourism development agency officials said that temporary facilities will be provided on the beach under the Coastal Control Zone regulations.
So, the list of the new 10 approved beaches by AP State Govt are
1. Sagarnagar, 2. Thimmapuram, 3. Mangamuripeta, 4, Chepaluppada, 5. INS Kalinga, 6. Erramatti, 7. Bhimunipatnam, 8. Nagayampalem, 9. Annavaram, 10. Kancherupalem.
Government is also thinking of setting up facilities like food courts, children’s sports park, walkways, fitness equipment, bathrooms, drinking water facility, safe swimming zones, beach sport activities, watch tower, CCTV control room, primary medical care etc.
Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said that these approved beaches will be open as soon as possible. The beaches will be designed to attract both domestic and foreign tourists.
