State Tourism Minister Muthyamsetti Srinivasa Rao (Avanti Srinivas) has said that tourist spots in the state will be opened from August 1 in accordance with the central government’s Covid-19 regulations. The minister said the loss was Rs 60 crore, up from Rs 10 crore per month till date. It has already given permission to visitors to tourist places in Telangana. He held a review meeting on Tuesday with the respective departmental heads on tourism, Shilparam and cultural departments at his office in the secretariat.
The minister said the tourist areas have been closed for four months and if there are any repairs in those areas in another 15 days, they will be completed and made available by August 1. He also said 5-star and 7-star hotels would be set up in seven tourist destinations in the state in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and steps have been taken to make tourism in the state fully accessible.
