Beauty pageants are much more than that, just being beautiful is not enough to win the crown; you need to be strong-hearted, intelligent and hard-working. Yes, indeed. A lady from the Vizag, emphatically proved it by getting crowned as 1st Runners up in the Mrs India beauty pageant. Her name is Mrs. Hollini Pallavai Patnaik.
Born in Odisha and brought up in Vizag, Mrs Pallavi did her schooling from Timpany and got an MBA degree from Gitam University and her post-graduation from IMT-Ghaziabad, she now works as a healthcare market research professional. Speaking to Hello Vizag with inspiring quotes, Mrs. Pallavi said “every woman is a queen, and we all have different things to offer.” She wants to disseminate the message that come what may, one should chase dreams no matter how difficult they are. Pallavi says she believes that putting one’s heart and soul into their dreams will certainly make them come true.
Underscoring the need for women’s empowerment through social media, she said one should definitely become an influencer on social media for the betterment of women. Today‘s era is the era of social media whose presence and active involvement has swiftly and widely spread the ideologies for women empowerment.
“Social media has become the agent of social change which helped and supported women‘s empowerment in various aspects such as mobilizing attention of the global community towards women‘s rights and challenges discrimination and stereotypes across the globe. Social media has given a platform to discuss issues and challenges of women through blogs, chats, online campaigns, online discussion forums, and online communities which is mostly not disseminated or propagated by mainstream media, she added.
Sharing the essence of organizing this kind of beauty pageants with Hello Vizag, Saloni Agarwal, Director of Miss & Mrs India Queen of Hearts (MIQH) said “the holding this kind of events is the national pride and treasure of India, the pageant is not the just conventional beauty pageant; rather, it emphasizes grace, poise, confidence, originality, intelligence, and talent. This type of event enhances the self-image of the married ladies and enhances their confidence. The Pageant provides an opportunity for the community to come together, provides a platform for married ladies to showcase their talents.
Pallavi is also trained in Odissi and currently learning Wacking, and hopes to work towards increased awareness and popularity of these dance forms across all strata of society. She expressed her sincere thanks to the entire team of MIQH, especially to Saloni Agarwal, Mrs Pallavi for giving her the platform to express her views and believes she could not have achieved anything without the support and encouragement of her family. MIQH Mrs. India was conducted in Crowne Plaza in Noida on December 23 and was graced by celebrities like Himanshi Khurana. The event was sponsored by brands such as Patanjali and Metro shoes.
