The online competitions were conducted mainly on elocution, essay writing, poster making, quiz, and photography competition from September 23 to 27.
In addition to the above, various events are also lined up in Vizag zoo from October 2. The details of the daily program schedule is also available at the Zoo website www.vizagzoo.com. Over the past few decades, there has been a paradigm shift towards educating people about nature and wildlife conservation within zoos through various modes of communication, and conservation education has become one of the very important objectives of Indian zoos.
Conservation education is the process of influencing people’s attitudes, emotions, knowledge, and behaviors about wildlife and wildlife habitats. Public learning about the conservation of wildlife and habitats is vital for avoiding any further extinction of wildlife and shrinking of its habitats, when educating people about the importance of conservation of species and their habitats in zoos, what we focus upon is creating a connection between them and nature. And these connections have the potential to change attitudes towards nature and help people imagine wildlife and humans existing in harmony with each other,” said Vizag zoo curator Nandani Salaria.
Hello Vizag believes that each person can make a difference for wildlife. Encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Speak up for wildlife so that your friends and family know how much you care about animals.
