Definitely everyone of us are feeling a bit relaxed as we are again experiencing normal life with relaxations everywhere. But we should also remember that we are not completely safe and we the threat of COVID-19 third wave ahead. Vizagites seems to be having the best time in enjoying as people are seen everywhere at beach, parks, and all other public places in the city.
Many of the people are not adhering to the COVID-19 protocols like wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing. Keeping all these in mind, to keep check to these people, district collector V. Vinay Chand instructed all the citizens to wear mask for sure whenever they are out of the home especially when at public places. If they won’t wear a mask, strict action will be taken against them and even a fine will also be imposed.
Citizens who don’t wear mask in public places will now be charged with a fine of Rs.100. District police have setup check points one at The Park hotel and the other at Naval Coastal battery to make sure citizens follow the protocols. Officials also stated that they will be announcing a toll free number soon for people to complain about anyone who is not wearing a mask. People can take a photo of those who are not wearing a mask and register a complaint against them.
With the relaxed curfew timings, all the shops, malls and commercials buildings were open to public in the morning times. To make them follow the protocols properly, officials have stated that the malls or shops will be imposed with a fine of Rs.10,000 to Rs.25,000 if anyone found without a mask in their premises.
As the district and health officials are getting ready to face the third wave, it is our responsibility to follow the COVID-19 protocols and stop the chances of spreading the virus.
