Vizagites should celebrate Vinayaka Chavithi only indoors


Commissioner of Police, Manish Kumar Sinha notified on Wednesday that there will no permission for erecting Ganesh idols in public places keeping in view of the COVID-19 guidelines.

It is the second consecutive year where there will be no public celebrations of Vinayaka Chavithi due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Police commissioner added that idols can be put up in private places and the festival should be strictly a private affair, and not a public one. He also added that no permissions will be given for Ganesh idol immersion processions and no other forms of entertainment activities will be allowed.

So, Vizagites, let us all abide to these rules and celebrate a happy and safe Vinayaka Chavithi.
