He has gone missing, the man who the farmers love just weeks is now being branded as the villain. Just days after the Delhi violence on Republic Day, certain farm leaders have accused none other than their erstwhile golden boy-Deep Sidhu of instigating violence on the day of the march.
Punjabi actor and activist Deep Sidhu is being accused of planting Sikh religious flags across the march and even instigating people to go to the Red Fort. According to the c of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, Deep was boycotted from the cause months ago as they learned of his separatist feelings. However, the Delhi Police is not satisfied with these claims and is now fully investigating farmer leaders as a part of their probe into the whole ordeal.
Deep Sidhu has been an infamous name in the country for his links with the Sikhs for Justice which started in January 2021 and ever since then, his entire activism has fallen flat on the ground. Sikhs for Justice is a US-based separatist group which sports the secession of Punjab from India and is headed by lawyer Gurpatwan Singh Pannun. The entire organization was banned in 2019 for its activities in India.
Deep was born in Muktsar, Punjab in 1984 and as he grew up, he wanted to become a model and an actor. He won the Kingfisher Model Hunt and then took part in Grasim Mr India and has walked the ramp for many big-ticket designers. He also worked in a law firm called Hammonds and they managed Disney, Sony and Hollywood Studios. As fate would have it, he became the legal head of Balaji Films where Ekta Kapoor asked him to act but he did not.
Slowly but surely, he entered the entertainment industry and did movies like Ramta Jogi, Jora 10 Numaria and more. But in late 2020 and early 2021, his links with the farmer’s protests and SFJ really put his reputation on the down low and made people rather angry. Now, he is being accused of direct relation with the violence that occurred on the 26th of January 2021. What do you think is the truth?
