Womens Hostel of Andhra University converted into Quarantine center

The rise in cases along with people coming from other places has lead to the requirement of more quarantine centers in the city. Hence, the womens hostel of Andhra University has been converted into quarantine center.

Earlier, students were asked to take home their belongings and the management announced that they would not be responsible for any misplacement of luggage and belongings and were given two days time.

Students from different districts had come to take their belongings, which eventually led to overcrowding in the hostel surroundings.

An engineering student of the womens hostel said that almost everyone came through their own mode of transport. “The risk of spread of coronavirus would be high when travelling through different modes of transport. Hence most of the students hired cabs, taxis etc, to reach the University premises,” she said.
