In an effort to observe World Environment Day on June 5, a few environmental organisations plan to organise a silent march on Friday, keeping in mind the social distancing norms.
The volunteers of Extinction Rebellion Vizag, Fridays For Future Andhra Pradesh, Youth Climate Save Movement India have transformed a normal rally to a ‘Social-distanced March’ or ‘Human Chain Formation’, which involves huge gaps between each individual (10 ft minimum)
The motive of this is to bring several causes together for a united, ‘intersectional’ climate movement. It aims to bring interested individuals to one place, standing far from one another all across the walk path (RK Beach), holding eco-friendly placards- walking ahead- right from YMCA to Kali Matha temple and back again.
This will be followed by a tree plantation activity.
